                                             Saturday, Jan 19th at Red’s in Kitty Hawk

The Outer Banks TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party has announced participation in the first annual “National Gun Appreciation Day”.  We will meet at Red’s Carolina Outfitters/Red’s Army/Navy store at 3638 N. Croatan Hwy in Kitty Hawk (near Daniel’s Homeport) Saturday, January 19^th at 10:00 am.

“National Gun Appreciation Day” is an opportunity for us to recognize our valuable equipment suppliers. We welcome others to join us at Red’s on the 19^th and to join our group to stand up for liberty.

The OBX TEA Party is an active, conservative team of local people of all ages and every demographic who highly support the US Constitution.  We believe in our right to self-protection and we believe it is a right for free citizens to be prepared to use deadly force to protect our own families and private property against threats of violence and intrusion.

Our mission is to advocate for Constitutionally limited, fiscally responsible government and free markets and to educate, organize and mobilize our fellow citizens around conservative values.

Continue reading »]]> Corrections:  The last newsletter had three errors, at least. I, Mattie Lawson, accept personal responsibility for the errors. I need to seriously bone up on local election procedures!  First: there is no Dare County School Board member elections in 2013.  The members are elected for 4 year terms, not 2 year terms, in even-numbered years.  We had elections in May of 2012.  The next elections are in May of 2014.  Second: the month for filing for Dare County and municipal elections is July, not February.  These elections are considered “non-partisan”.  There is no primary cycle thus the mid-summer filing date.  Good news! This gives us more time to recruit candidates and a support structure for each to further our patriotic cause.  Third: there are only 6 municipal elections in Dare County (Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head and Manteo).  The towns and villages receive their services from Dare County.  Thank you for your patience.

Last Meeting: At the OBX TEA Party Patriots meeting last Thursday attendance was excellent and participants were enthusiastic.  Special thanks to our on-fire guest speaker, Jay DeLancy of the Voter Integrity Project, for sharing very interesting facts about the last election and fielding our many questions.  He reviewed his 16 goals for the 2013 NC Legislative Agenda.  He is hoping to hit the floor running with legislative bills to get a leg up on reforming the state’s troublesome election process.  Voter reform will help protect the legitimate votes of law-abiding citizens.  Patriots who see this as a passion they can get behind are encouraged to contact Jay to volunteer.  Contact Jay at jay@voterintegrityproject.com or visit his website.  There will be a telecom Tuesday December 18^th on related subjects so act quickly to get on board.

At his own cost, member Jerry Luckadoo provided copies of “Understanding Sustainable Development – Agenda 21 – for the People and their Public Officials” prepared by Freedom Advocates. The last page lists six practical steps to restore and protect liberty.  We cannot and must not ignore this threat!  Thank you, Jerry, for sharing this updated information!  We’ll bring the remaining copies to the next meeting for anyone interested.     

Next Meeting:  Our next OBX TEA Party Patriots meeting is Thursday January 3^rd at 5:30 pm at the Western Sizzlin’ in Kill Devil Hills.  NEW TIPPING PROCEDURE: due to sporadic issues with providing adequately for our dedicated waitress, as of the next meeting we will pay a flat fee of $50 for the use of the room.  This nominal charge will include FREE soft drinks for all attendees and it will pay for the waitress – no tipping will be necessary.

Patriot Action: Attached is a Civitas form to complete and submit to let our leadership know we are behind eliminating the income tax in NC.  Instructions are on the form. This form is provided in the monthly Civitas newsletter.  Click this link to complete a petition to repeal ObamaCare http://www.nccivitas.org/ocarepetition/ .  A suggested North Carolina-centric conservative news source in addition to Civitas is The Carolina Journal available on-line at http://www.carolinajournal.com  or sign-up to get on their mailing list.  These are free but contributions are sought to offset costs.

Reminder of the Benghazi March on DC scheduled for noon on January 21^st 2013 at the Lincoln Memorial for Vietnam Vets to be heard.  Stand up for all who fought for our freedom.  Plan now to attend.
